I was laying in bed, a typical morning for me, and my phone started to ring. It was my mom so I answered it and heard some news that I defiently wasn't expecting to hear. My mom said "Michelle, I am calling to tell you that your dad passed away this morning." I proceeded to ask what happened. In short detail He was driving and had a massive heart attack and died on the scene. I was shocked though and didnt even really know what to think. For of you guys that know me, know I don't have a great relationship with my dad. My first thought was "I didn't even tell him Keegan was born." That is still my one regret to this day. After hearing the news I was not planning on going up to his funeral, for it was the middle of winter, we were tight on money, I didnt have a great relationship with my dad and didn't think I would care, and Keegan was just over a weeks old and that is a long drive to take so soon. But as the day went on and it begun to sink in of what had happened I decided that I needed to make a trip up there and say my good byes and have closure or I would reget it down the road. So around 5pm we threw everything together and started the LONG drive up to Spokane, WA. I am so greatful that I decided to go. I was able to say my good byes and It was the best time and a bonding moment with my family.
I was so blessed that Keegan did amazing on the drive and didn't get sick.
"DAD! I love you and will forever miss you! I know you are watching over my little Keegan and that even though you are not here to be his grandpa that you are his angel!"
On a side note Keegan was weighted this day and had lost more weight since being sent home. They had me start pumping and supplementing formula. He just never wanted to eat and would fall asleep as soon as I put a bottle in his mouth.

Delivery Day and Hospital Stay (this post is only 7 months late)
December 29, 2010
On this cold and snowy Wednesday my day started out the same. Sleeping in and the sitting on the couch watching tv. At around noon I started having contractions but nothing really strong or consistant. At about 4:30pm I got a strong urge to use the bathroom (Warning the next parts might be alittle to much info but this is my journal so sorry)... So up off the couch I got and for some reason grabbed my cell phone first, I went and sat on the toilet and started bleeding alot, I started to panic and sent Chad a text and then called my doctor. I was bleeding so much that I couldn't get off the toilet for over 10 minutes. I was also passing blood clots the size of my fist. I was so scared cause I had no clue what was going on or what to do. So when on the phone with my doctor he said to go ahead and go into Labor and delivery and be checked, I don't think he really understood to what extent I was bleeding. So I called Chad and told him he needed to head home NOW! I was still in panic mode. I called a few people to try and get a ride to the hospital or meet Chad some place since he was an hour away! My friend Anita was able to come get me and we met up with Chad.
I checked in to the hopsital at around 5:30ish, of coarse by that time I was no longer bleeding... UGH! So they hooked me up to the monitors and checked me. I don't think they believed me in the amount of blood I had lost! UGH stupid nurses thinking that just cause I am a new mom I don't know anything! I was at a 1 and 80%! To my suprise I was having regular contractions about 1.5 minutes apart. So after being there for about 30 minutes I again had a strong urge to use the toilet. I called in the nurse to unhook me, I got up and again a gush of blood come, I told Chad to call the nurse back in cause yet again I was unable to get off the toilet. The Nurse came in a looked and then in a hurry said I am going to go call your doctor and left. I was finally able to get back into bed but not before filling up the toilet with blood yet again! This time they didn't flush it so that the doctor could see it! About 5 minutes later the nurse came in and said I hope your okay with a c-section cause your doctor wants to get the baby out. Of course I was okay with it and even if I wasn't I wanted what was best for my baby. They started preparing me for the surgery! Of coarse this happened on the same day as a huge snow storm so it took my doctor about 45 minutes to get there when it should have taken about 5 minutes.
Once the doctor got there, they rolled me back and the surgery started. My Doctor didn't even wait for the assisting doctor. I was later told that my placenta was detaching and that why I was bleeding. At 7:32pm Mr. Keegan McCoy was born. He weighted in at 7lbs 4oz! He nurse said that he had the biggest head she had ever measured! I was worried cause he wasn't really crying and they kept trying to get him to breathe by rubbing his back. They told me that he were going to take him to the nursery and monitor him and get him on some oxygen. I was worried and still in shock but couldn't wait to hold my baby. I went to recovery and then back to my room and finally at around Midnight I was able to get up and stand long enough for me to get into a wheelchair to go see Keegan.
When I went into the nursery, I saw my precious and tiny little boy hooked up to machines. He was hooked up to oxygen and also had an IV as a precaution cause they weren't sure how much blood I had lost. They alos had some other monitors on him. After holding him and doing skin to skin for about 30 minutes the on call doctor decided he was free to go back to my room with me. YAY! I could hold my baby for the rest of the night. I was still in shock and could really believe that I was a Mom and this little baby belonged to me.
He had a few other complications due to being early. They still had to monitor his oxygen closely and he didn't have a sucking reflux for the first 2-3 days. We couldn't get him to eat anything. After like our 3rd day in the hospital the doctor talked about putting him on a feeding tube. Keegan didnt like that idea and started eating later that day. He lost just under a pound before leaving the hospital so they wanted me to keep a close eye on it. Other then that Keegan was a great baby. He never cried, even when they had to check his blood sugar levels or do his PKU testing. He stayed with me the whole visit in the hospital. We were released Sunday mid morning. It was defiently nice to be home but I missed the nurses waiting on me hand and foot. It was nice to have someone do everything for me.

Last Few months of My Pregnancy!
Okay so I have been a super slacker but sometimes it is so hard to just sit down and write! Really who reads it anyways.
Nothing really exciting happened the last few months of my pregnancy. I did have to go to Labor and Delivery a few times in November and the begining of December. Keegan just liked to stress me out and sit so far back on my back that I couldn't feel him moving for long periods of time. I, of coarse being a first time mom was freaked out about it since my doctor always told me I should feel 10 movements in any given hour a day! Lets just say Chad and I had alot of late nights at the Hospital being monitored.
On December 21st, Chad and I made our trip down to the Hospital to be checked since Keegan was once again not moving. They monitored me for alot longer this time. I was starting to dilate. I was have contractions off and on but nothing to big. At that time I also was checked to see if my water was leaking.. One test come back positive, one came back negative... Go figure! So they had to do yet another test which came back negative. The one call doctor did order a ultrasound though just to check the fluid levels, During that ultrasound we founf out Keegan was measuring much bigger then he should. It set my due date at December 31st. His head was measuring 41 weeks (mind you I was only 25 weeks along), torso measuring 38 weeks and legs measuring 36 weeks. We did find out he had hair though and my fluid was perfect. So I was then set home!
After getting the results from the ultrasound tech of Keegan and his big head I decided to talk to my doctor about having a c-section, Yes I am a baby but I didn't wanna push that head out! My doctor wasnt happy about my desire for a c-section but scheduled it anyways for Monday January 10th. At this tim eI finally was okay with the fact that Keegan wasn't going to come in 2010, I wanted him to come in 2010 for a couple reasons.
~ We had already met our out of pocket max expenses for the year so our insurance would pay 100%
~ Tax Deduction!!
~ I really needed some sleep and with me hips it was nearly impossible
~ I couldn't wait to meet my little monkey!

Finally
So on Sunday (October 3rd) morning, Keegan was being really active and I grabbed Chads hand and put it softly on my belly. Of coarse, Keegan stopped kicking and moving. I told Chad to just be patient and sure enough shortly after that Keegan kicked him. I can't wait until he starts getting more active and he can feel him more. Only 106 more days to go!

Our Trip to California....beware there will be lots of pictures
So for our Anniversary we decided to go to California, yes we are celebrating it like 6 months late but going in September worked better with Chad's work schedule. We flew out the morning of Saturday, Sept 18th. After arriving in LA and checking into our hotel we headed to Disneyland. Our hotel was only a 10 minute walk to the parking tram so we were in a great location. We spent the day in Disneyland Saturday and Sunday.

On Tuesday we went down to Hollywood Blvd. and walked the stars of fame, so yes more walking for my feet. It was fun seeing all the stars especially ones like Kermit the Frog or Donald Duck. While there we Ate at the Hard Rock, another tradition we have when going on vacation.

I was so tired of walking!
After Walking around Hollywood, we headed to Venice Beach. It was so windy and getting cold. We walked along the beach for a little while. While walking we saw a big dead jellyfish. After the beach we headed back to the hotel. I was exhausted!

On Tuesday we headed back to Disneyland. There was alot less people there and the lines weren't long at all. Here is a few pictures from that day!
With Tinkerbell, my favorite fairy!
Us waiting for the parade to start!
Us at Dinner!

On Wednesday, my feet needed another break, we went thru a session at the Newport Beach Temple. It was a smaller temple but very pretty. Chad and I really enjoyed it and it brought back lots of memories of our wedding day. We were asked to be the witness couple, which was a great experience.

Later that night we went to dinner at the Rainforest Cafe. It was a fun eating experience and the food was pretty good.

August 2010
So the month of August was just as boring and uneventful as to other months! My best friend, Rachel and her 3 kids from Lewiston, ID (my hometown) came for a few days during the middle of August. One night we took Mari, Adam, Rachel and her kids to the Legacy Center in Lehi. The kids had alot of fun. Mari has mastered floating on her back and well Adam he is getting there. He still gets very nervous and freaks out when you let go of him but he is getting better. Here are a few pictures from that night.
This is Alara... She is a crazy Girl!
Nevaeh going down the slide! Those kids had a blast....
Chad and I playing with the kids. As you can see Chad is helping Adam float, and Mari is off to the side floating.
Also while Rachel we here we all went camping for the weekend. It was so stinkin' hot and I about died. All the kids had fun playing and getting dirty though.
Moriah and Rachel, She was playing us all a song.
Alara and Nevaeh roasting Marshmellows!
That pretty much sums up and August and our summer for the most part. Sorry we are so boring!

July 2010
Well besides being sick this month cause of the pregnancy and a couple trips to the ER we didn't do much.
We ended up going to the Ogden Demolition Derby for the Fourth of July. It was alot of fun. Chad and I have a yearly tradition of going to a Derby for the Fourth of July. it is great entertainment and they always have a great Firework show afterwards. Our favorite part of the Derby is when the trucks go at it. Here are a few pictures from our adventure that day!
Chad and I enjoying ourselves!
These car were stuck together but the blue car was still going just dragging him along!
We were able to fit in a camping trip up at Jordanelle State Park. We went the 16th thru the 18th. It was so hot but alot of fun. I think my favorite part was on Saturday when we decided to go to Park City and do alittle shooping since we were only like 10 minutes away. Other then that we just sat at the beach with our feet in the lake and watched the people boating. It was nice to get away and spend the weekend together and relax!
Chad is enjoying opening the milk way to much! Man I love that guy!
Our view of the lake from our Campsite
Cooking me some yummy eggs and sausage
This guy was there doing some tricks, some one was recording him from a helicopter
Chad relaxin at the beach
Not really sure why I look like I am scared, if you notice I have my wedding ring on my necklace, my fingers were getting to big couse of the heat!
